Ten Lipstick Tips
Lipstick application may sound easy but here are some tips that can help you get the most out of your lipstick.
1. Remove dead skin. You wouldn't want your lips to look cracked and peeled after you applied lipstick because that does not look good. So before you even apply the first layer peel the dead skin first off your lips. You can do this by brushing your lips with a regular toothbrush.
2. If you have trouble making your lipstick last, then you might want to try your luck using long lasting lipstick. Yes, this is the type of lipstick that is specially formulated to last longer than the standard lipstick. If you hate the idea of reapplying lipstick most of the time, then this long lasting lipstick might work wonders for you.
3. If you are going to wear dark lipstick, keep the rest of your make up light and more natural. Avoid using dark eye shadow and dark lipstick at the same time because you might end up looking like a clown instead of looking fabulous.
4. Apply your lipstick in any way you want to or in any way you were taught to. There are actually a lot of ways to apply lipstick; one is using a lipstick brush, another is using your middle finger and the last one is applying lipstick directly from the tube. It doesn't really matter which way you use because the result is still the same. Just stick to what you are comfortable with.
5. Use a lipstick base. A lipstick base will help your lipstick last longer. For a lipstick base, you can either use powder or a lip liner. When you have a lipstick base, the lipstick will then have something to stick to. When you are using a light lipstick use a nude liner as base.
6. If you want to add emphasis to your lips you can opt to use lip liners. Lip liners are used to emphasize the lip line. You can either apply the liner before or after putting on lipstick. But lips look more natural if you apply the liner after the lipstick.
7. If you have the problem of lipstick getting onto your teeth, then this trick might help you. After putting on lipstick, insert your index finger inside your mouth, pop it and then pull it out. This will remove the excess lipstick on your lips.
8. Here's another trick to make your lipstick last longer. After you applied the first layer, blot it with a piece of tissue paper and then apply the second layer.
9. If you are using a matte lipstick, always keep a lip gloss close at hand. Matte lipstick may last longer but it can dry your lips and of course dry lips with lipstick don't look good. So, apply a liberal amount of lip gloss on your lips.
10. Do not use the tester lipstick. Think about how many women have used that tester; it is simply unhygienic. Instead of putting it on your lips, put it on your fingers. The color of your finger is more or less similar to the color of your lips.
As mentioned, it is all about the technique. If you want to make your lipstick last longer, there are several ways mentioned that can surely help you with that.
