Six Things To Remember When Storing Clothes And Apparel

A disorganized house or even just a part of that house is not a sight to see and could even be labeled as an eyesore. It would be very hard to live in a space where everything is scattered just about everywhere because you don't have a place to keep them.

You might have noticed that books are usually stored in the bookshelves, your kitchen wares are usually stacked inside the kitchen cabinet and your CDs placed inside a CD case. Everything does have a place even if these are just things.

Placing items in proper storage spaces will surely keep these in tip top shape and will probably help these last for a long time. One of the many items that have to be stored properly is your clothing and apparel. Here some ways to store them for you to be able to enjoy them for many years to come.

1. Store shoes in boxes. Often times, we find it too much of a hassle to put our shoes back in the original box that is why we prefer placing them on the shoe rack or cabinet. Placing your shoes inside their original boxes will keep them protected from harmful elements. It will also help them keep their original shape.

2. Do not wash your evening gowns yourself. Most gowns are made from delicate materials so it would be best if you let an expert handle it. Majority of the gowns are being dry cleaned instead of being washed the conventional way.

3. If you don't like creases on your favourite jeans, then you should hang them instead of folding them. Jeans are usually folded and then placed inside the cabinet. This practice has been done for years, but then people have different tastes. For those who want their jeans looking flawless they always have the option of hanging them.

4. When storing your brassiere, stack them one after the other making sure that the cups fit perfectly into each cup preceding it. Do not just dump your brassieres into the drawer because this can result to deformed bra cups and deformed cups don't look good worn under a tight or body fitting shirt.

5. Do not fold your dresses because dresses aren't supposed to have creases. The best way to store your day dress or summer dress is by hanging them. Place them on a padded hanger before you put them inside your closet.

6. Arrange your clothes inside the closet. You can arrange them according to type, color or purpose or whatever suits your fancy. Whichever way you arrange it is fine as long as it is organized inside your closet. Dumping your clothes inside the closet is not a good idea because these clothes can end up with unwanted wrinkles and creases.

Keep in mind that if you want your clothes and other apparel to last longer you should take care of them in the best way possible. Storing them properly is just one of the many ways of caring for them.
