Five Types Of Foundation

Before you put any other makeup on your face you will have to put on a foundation. The foundation will serve as the base and for your information foundations do have various types too. Some of them are briefly discussed below.

1. Concealers. If you have dark spots on your face, wrinkle or acne scars, then this type of foundation will serve you best. Concealers have a thickened consistency and most of the time tinted. 2. Liquid foundation. This type of foundation is easier to apply and looks more natural. You are assured of a smooth finish when you use liquid foundation and to enhance the smooth finish you can use a damp make up sponge when applying this type of foundation. Women prefer this type of foundation because aside from the fact that it is easy to use, it is also widely available and can even be found at your local drug store. Liquid foundation usually comes in tubes and provides sheer to medium coverage.

3. Cream foundation. If you want your face to look flawless, then you better try this type of foundation. Like liquid foundation, cream foundations are easy to apply too, so even if it is your first time to put on foundation, there is really no need to worry. Cream foundations can be used as correctors too. In other words, it can function the same way as the concealer does. This type of foundation has high moisture content, very ideal for those who have dry skin. Cream foundations usually come in compacts or sticks. This type provides medium to heavy coverage.

4. Powder foundation. This is the traditional type of foundation. Since this is considered as the traditional form of foundation, it is only natural for us to find this type of foundation in most women's purses. This type comes in handy when you have to do some retouching on your applied makeup in the middle of the day. Powder foundation often appears matte in appearance. If you have oily skin, this is the type of foundation for you. Powder foundations provide medium to heavy coverage and is best applied using a thick brush or a makeup sponge. This type comes in the form of compressed and loose powders.

5. Cream to powder foundation. This is hybrid of the cream and powder types of foundation. This type combines the smooth and flawless coverage of a cream foundation and comes in cream form which makes it easier to apply along with the fast drying and settling effect of a powder foundation. In simpler terms, you apply this foundation the same way you apply a cream foundation and when it is dry expect a matte finish. This type of foundation is ideal for women who have combination and oily skin types. Cream to powder foundation can come in compacts, tubes and sticks.

When using foundation, make sure that it is the right type of foundation and it should match your skin type. Always apply a liberal amount and pay attention to the problem areas of your face.
